eyes

it was as if
my heart had never been broken

i was fearless
i felt a blush
a crush
and felt a spark
in the humid texas night

unexpected
i guess that's when it happens
at least that's what everyone
has been telling me

i stare into eyes
that make me smile
an arm wraps around my waist
we walk and talk

two hands converge
more sparks
a goodbye hug
and i memorize
arms around my waist
lips against my cheek
and i stare one more time
into those eyes
